Orange get the iPhone

So after what seems like a decade of having the iPhone all to themselves, O2orange-logo are finally having to wake up to the realisation that in the coming few months Vodafone and Orange are going to be able to offer the iPhone too.

Orange are only a couple of weeks away from rolling the iPhone out in large amounts so what will this mean for the price of the iPhone and the cost of the tariffs?

Well, not a lot. You see, the networks don’t actually have any control over the cost of the handsets etc as Apple have such tight control over everything it is actually Apple themselves who control the cost and the marketing of it.

Yes, it will give you more choice of tariffs, as many places in the country get better signal from different suppliers but overall the only thing it is really going to do is make more money for Apple.

Thousands upon thousands of people have already preregistered with Orange and Vodafone for the new iPhone so have we maybe started to see the end of the road for non smart phones?

One thing is for sure, the likes of Nokia, HTC and other mobile handset manufacturers are really going to have to raise their game to get people to buy their handsets.

So watch this space……..
