A number of airlines have now introduced Wi-Fi on their planes so you can
download and respond to your emails whilst flying.
Is this simply a big push to get business travellers back in the air, or to bring consumers back to travel during these hard times or is it really a true incentive to improve business travel?
More importantly, does it actually work? There are a number of stories bouncing around the internet that a lot of people have booked with an airline simply to use this facility only to find out that the airline only has the service on a couple of their planes! Not that much use if your plane isn’t one of them!!
What are the security implications too? Will it make things more easy for criminals to control their networks? Will the Wi-Fi effect the planes controls?
Are we again taking communication too far? Will companies now expect you to work even when you are flying?
Is this a step in the right direction or is it step too far?
