What started as the prize for a worthy Gloucestershire cause and then became a sales incentive for Lister staff was turned into a real head-turner for a bunch of young footballers.
Lister Unified Communications’ sales manager Simon Gardner spent the weekend driving around in a fabulous BMW i8 roadster courtesy of Cotswold BMW and a successful silent auction bid.
Rob Lister put in the successful bid to win the weekend driving experience during the Nelson Trust golf day at Minchinhampton Golf Club in September where £10,000 was raised for the charity.
After winning the prize with a successful bid, Mr Lister decided the best possible use for the prize was to act as an incentive for Lister’s sales force.
He said: “It was such a great prize and such a great cause to give to, that it wouldn’t have done it justice to simply use it myself.
“So, I challenged the sales staff and they responded in kind and had a good laugh along the way as the competition heated up.
“Simon came out as the winner and from what I can gather had great fun making himself seen over the weekend.”
Mr Gardner added: “The i8 was a stunning piece of machinery and a real joy to drive. It was also quite the head turner as I drove all around the Cotswolds.
“It made an appearance at Forest Green Rovers for their FA Cup match on Saturday, but the real highlight was taking my grandson to his football training with Minchinhampton under-eights.”
