Wasdell Packaging was Lister’s very first customer, 15 years ago. They were originally based in Stonehouse and we provided them with traditional on-site telephony: a Panasonic System & ISDN lines. In 2014, new ownership brought new, ambitious growth plans. They needed a much larger site, so relocated to Swindon, into three warehouses, running a multi-shift pattern, so their telecoms system needed to change radically.
Wasdell committed to great internet connectivity with a private ethernet circuit and we installed high grade fibre optic links between the warehouses
It was clear that their need was for a flexible, scalable phone system required, so we provided a Cloud solution. This, initially, provided for 40 users across the offices & warehouses:
the offices had desk phones and Wi-Fi phones enabled access across the warehouses. This has now grown to 70 users in Swindon and the addition of two more sites in other parts
of Swindon, followed in 2016 by the acquisition of another packaging company in Burnley, Lancashire, with another 27 more users. Connectivity is ensured via a local 4G Wi-Fi initiative.
This Cloud solution is one system that is centrally managed from the Swindon headquarters, but provides local numbers at each site, plus internal calls, hold, transfer, an overflow reception service and an auto-attendant.
Nick Smith, Head of IT, commented:
“We’ve worked with Lister for a long time, so they understand what is important to us. They provide telecoms that ensure our warehouses can talk to the main office seamlessly, enabling us to always provide excellent service and continue to grow”
