Lister heard about St Rose’s at the Smiths (Gloucester) 40th Anniversary CharityBall and the company was keen to do something to help.
St Rose’s provides education, therapy and day and residential care for children and young people aged 2 to 25, with a wide range of disabilities, including autism. Many of the students have physical disabilities, as well as sensory, learning, and communication difficulties and some also have complex health needs.
St Rose’s nursery cares for some mainstream children, alongside children with disabilities.
Jim Clapham, director of Lister, said: “I heard about St Rose’s amazing work when we were at Smiths' Gloucester’s Charity Ball, fundraising for the school.
“We approached St Rose’s, and mentioned we did two-way radios. They were looking at replacing their basic radio set, so we have donated a set of licenced radios and set them up for them.”
Sheila Talwar, principal at St Rose’s Special School, said: “We are delighted to have received 18 two-way radios from Lister Communications. This generous donation will enable easier communication between our staff, who are spread across a large site.
“The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is paramount and your support will make a massive difference to us all at St Rose’s.”
